There has been movement on this. A meeting took place today regarding the QCTO skills program first aid name changes. See my previous articles reagrding QCTO first aid and the name changes that HPCSA and NDOH suggested. The discussion is significant because a change like that would result in QCTO forcing all QCTO first aid accredited providers into a re-application process.
I should update this article as the info becomes public domain, but at this point I can only say that a 2hr meeting took place (2nd September 2024) regarding the name change, and that QCTO/HWSETA have said they will send a notice out about it.
I was kind of ‘shadow banned’ from this meeting in the same way the focus group (stakeholders / SDP’s) were from a previous meeting about it. As a result, any info I have about this is not first hand, but also, I cannot disseminate.
My advice remains to continue to gain accreditation for, and train these programs in first aid (SP-230801, 230802, 230803). My previous articles on the matter advise the same.
