Do I need learning material to get QCTO accredited?

Every application for accreditation with the QCTO (and other bodies) requires that you have learning material to train from. An alignment matrix needs to be submitted with the material to prove every module and sub topic has been covered and assessed. The material must include all necessary components: A lesson plan, FISA / EISA (summative assessment), facilitator, learner, and assessor guides, as well as model answers etc. Here we look at five ways to get learning material if you do not have.

Where can I get learning material from?

Here are five ways to get learning material:

  1. Buy our high quality off-the-shelf material
  2. Get material from third party / other providers (we will connect you)
  3. Write your own material

Get in touch, we’re here to help. More on each point below

1. Buy our much-loved, high quality out of the box material

These are always co-written by both an accredited course writer and at least one real subject matter expert who is usually a leader in their industry. This type of learning material is targeted at people who know the difference. They want excellent, accurate, modern, visual, well written material with images that are properly licensed. They want zero plagiarism. They want original material and a guaranteed high quality learning experience for their learners.

We are unique in catering for this market. This learning material is arguably the best material there is in South Africa. We revise them and send out new versions at no charge. You purchase the electronic versions and use them on a print-on-demand basis. That means you can use them electronically or print as many as you like for use within your training business. Or just use them in electronic form. NB: These are not for resale but only for use within your training business.

We do not have many of these though because they tend to take a LOT of time to write. But once done, we make them available on the online shop and you can purchase them and they are ready out of the box. You will absolutely love them. They’re good value all things considered.

2. Get material from a third party or other providers

We can assist you in purchasing material form third party learning material vendors. We never endorse any material we have not created, and we do not “middle-man” it. If you have an active project with Lime Green we simply connect you to sellers who may have what you need.

If we’ve dealt with that supplier before we give you some background on how client’s previous experiences have been and if their material is any good. We have connected many providers to vendors who have the material they need.

We understand we do not always have the learning material you need, so we assist client’s in sourcing it.

3. Write your own material

This is not just sales talk, if you have not done this before, don’t underestimate how much work this can be. Speak to us about costs of creating or sourcing material for you if you do not have the time or will to do it yourself. Even if writing it yourself, maybe have a chat to us anyway. It needs to be aligned in the way QCTO want, it needs to have all the supporting documents and compliance checks in place, and it needs to be a full suite. This can be massively time consuming and you’ll be creating all kinds of processes and templates that you then only use for one suite of material.
